Port Canaveral is a large cruise port on the east coast of Florida, about 45 miles east of Orlando and Disney World. The port area is just south of Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center, which makes it a relatively easy travel destination, as thousands of tourists add the Space Center or beach trips to their Disney vacations. Two airports serve the Port Canaveral area; Melbourne International, about 20 miles to the south and Orlando International, 45 miles to the west. Orlando International is a much larger airport, serving about 36 million passengers a year. A variety of transportation options are available, including rental cars, shuttles, taxis and buses.
