The island of Cozumel, a short distance from Cancun off of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, lures visitors to its white-sand beaches and its reefs that are world-famous for snorkeling and scuba diving. Many travelers embark on cruises to Cozumel to sample the island's attractions for a short visit. Although some cruises to Cozumel leave from Galveston, Texas, and New Orleans, Louisiana, most depart from ports in Florida.
